Commencing in September 2019, I will be offering an illustration mentoring placement to recent graduates or early career illustrators.
The mentoring placement will last 4 months and will include up to 4 face-to face-meetings, plus an initial meeting where we will discuss and agree our goals for the placement. Mentees must be willing to travel to Peckham, South London for meetings. There will be no charge for this placement.

Do I have to be based in the UK? Can the placement be taken online or remotely?
Currently, this placement is open to anyone within travelling distance of Peckham, London. Meetings will be face-to-face and not via video call so cannot be taken remotely.
Where and when will mentoring meetings occur?
Meetings will take place in my art studio in Peckham or in a local cafe, depending on requirements. At our first meeting, we will agree on a schedule for future meetings. Please note that travel expenses will not be provided.
Do I need to have an illustration degree to apply?
A degree or formal illustration training is desirable but not essential. Please do tell me about your illustration experience when applying.
What is considered an ‘early career’ illustrator?
Anyone working either part or full-time for three years or less.
Are there any age restrictions on applying?
Anyone 18 years or over may apply.
Is there a charge for the placement?
No. I am offering my mentoring services for this placement, free of charge. Many people helped and mentored me in my early career and I hope this will be a way to repay that kindness.
What can I do to strengthen my application?
Please endeavour to write in full, grammatically correct sentences. Consider writing in the style of either ‘ professional business correspondence’ or ‘letter to an elderly aunt.’
