 Godzilla takes Las Vegas!

My illustration for Von Glitschka's forthcoming design book "World of Textures: 55 Stunning Photo Textures to Use", which will be published by How in 2007.

In this book, 55 artists/designers are each assigned a texture and asked to create an image with it.

It was quite a challenge using just one texture, flipped, warped, cloned or inverted!

 Whats on your Desk?

In true Through the Keyhole fashion, I've created a new collaborative blog at OnMyDesk.com, which encourages all professional artists, illustrators, designers and creative folk to post images and a few words about their workspace.

Early contributors include the super-dooper: Elwood H Smith, Jeff Andrews, Bob Staake, What What and Allan Sanders.

If you'd like to join in the read the FAQs and get in touch!

1. Who can post?
All professional designers, artists, illustrators or creative types are welcome.
2. How do I post?
You can request a blogger invitation to post directly to this blog, or failing that, you submit stuff by email and I can always post it for you, I suppose.
3. What should I post?
Please post a photo of your desk/workspace and/or photos of individual items on your desk which are important, inspirational, interesting, practical, essential to your work and art. Please write a little about why these things are important to you too. It would be great if you could avoid just posting images of your computer, unless its super-interesting or something. Please note that any offensive images/posts will be removed, stored in my personal collection or sent to your parents/spouse.
4. But what if I don't have a desk?
You can just submit a photo of your studio/workspace or just some of your 'stuff'.
5. Can I post images/links to my work?
Please start your post with your name, occupation, location and a link to your work.
6. Can I post more than once?
Sure. And do visit regularly to comment on other peoples stuff.
7. What do I get in return?
Well, not very much to be honest other than a permanent link to your site. But its good to share and you'll make me happy which is a start...
8. Can I post my news/site updates/promotional messages to this blog?
Yes if its relevant to your 'on my desk' post or what you're working on. If you have any news you'd like to share or sites to promote, you can email me directly and they'll be added to regular bulletin posts.
9. But what if I'm still confused?
Well I may or may not be able to help but drop me an email anyway.

 Purchase of the Week #4

I may not be all that interested in Chopin (i.e. not in the slightest) but I did like the hand written typography on the cover of this 1966 7inch. And at 50p, who cares if I never play it...
